The story of a photographer
I stood there in the middle of the congregation. My pants sagged a bit as I held my breath to gently press on the camera's shutter. I could hear the echos of the pastor's last words; "c'mon man!". Laughter filled the air and smiles lit up an already bright room. I held the focus, closed one eye, and I just knew that I got the shot
My name is Win, but I go by many nicknames.
Born in Kinshasa D.R. Congo, and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, I started my photography journey in the largest church, in the country's Congolese community. As nerve wracking as it was, it shaped my love for capturing moments of all kind, smiles and tears alike - being able to capture a moment, rich in story, and make it forever.
First picked up a camera in 2014, and I have yet to put it down.
I hope you enjoy viewing my work, half as much, as I did creating it.
